August Bank Holiday in Hereford

Friday 28th August we went to Hereford for the last bank holiday of the season it was a rally with the Avon Centre of the caravan club.  The site Lucksall is a managed caravan club site and such a beautiful site right along side the river wye.

We have been coming to this site about 35 years well before it became established as such a well laid out and run site.

There were only a few caravans and loads of open space where all adults and children used to play football and rounder's together now all the open space is marked out as caravan and tent pitches

We arrived on site just after 12 mid day and my cousin and hubby Geoff arrived just after us.

After setting up we had a cuppa and some food and had a walk along the river bank.

Evening we had nice pork loin on the BBQ and a few glasses and a good chat to catch up on all the latest family news

Saturday 29th

We didn’t take our little car with us this weekend so today we went into to Leominster with Drena & Geoff in their car had a look around there and made our way back to site as our daughter Tracy and hubby Nigel along with our baby granddaughter Keira came to visit.

The weather was nice and warm so we sat outside and had a BBQ lunch. Keira enjoyed the freedom to have a run around on the grass and by late afternoon it was time to say goodbye to them.

Evening we had a lovely steak on the BBQ and a few glasses and a good chat. We can  always find something to chat about.

A walk around the site and I spotted this in pristine condition

London Eye

Saturday 08/08/09 I went on a day trip to London with my grand daughter Katie it was the London eye and River Trip organised by the local coach company.

We left at 6.45am and after some local pick ups we arrived at the eye at 11.30am it was free and easy day we were given our eye tickets and river cruise tickets as we left the coach and was told to be back on the coach at 5pm for departure home so it was up to the individuals how they wanted to spend the day.

Katie and I decided to do the eye trip first so we got in the queue and had to wait 1hr 20 mins before we got on.    Just as well we had a beautiful day. the round trip on the eye took 40mins.

This lot of photos from  the eye

Time to get back on the coach and make our way back home. Only one problem we didn’t get home until 9.50pm the traffic getting out of London and two hold up’s on the M4

But a very good day and brilliant weather.
