8th May 2009
Friday we set off for a rally with the caravan club Gwent Centre which was held at Chepstow Racecourse. The weather was terrible we had rain and hailstones but wait for the British weather and we would never go anywhere so off we went hoping we wouldn’t get stuck on the grass as we have done before but there’s always plenty of 4 x 4’s on site. We were meeting up with my cousin and hubby from Cheltenham and they have a 4 x 4 so we knew we would be OK.
We arrived on site at 2pm in glorious sunshine what a change in the weather we were followed by the cousin just 5mins later. got the vans set up and had a cuppa and a snack and just sat and chatted.
Saturday 9th May
Woke up to a lovely sunny day and had a full English cooked on the BBQ by Geoff supervised by Bernard.
A view of the site
After breakfast we had a trip out to the historic town of Chepstow
And then onto Tintern and the famous Abby ruins
The River Wye running through Tintern
Then back to the site for our evening BBQ .
Then it was the evening get together with the rally marshals who put on a lovely strawberry and cream tea followed by a few games just for fun.

Sunday May 10th
Another beautiful sunny day and a cooked breakfast. There is a BIG market held on the racecourse every Sunday so it was off for a look around for any bargains before packing up and setting off home
Well it turned out to be a great weekend and the weather was beautiful
Looking forward to the next outing.

Hi Maureen
Looks like the weather was kind to you again.
We were VERY lucky last week too. Had a whole week away (South Cornwall) and had just 1 hours worth of daylight rain all week!
I have over 300 photos to sort through and get our blog updated so bear with me. Might not be done this week as flipping work is busy now too!!! :o)
Take Care,
Sharon
